Calculation Formulas & Example

Core Formulas:

Price to Retailer (PTR):

PTR = (MRP ÷ (1 + GST%)) × (1 – Retailer Margin%)

Price to Stockist (PTS):

PTS = PTR × (1 – Stockist Margin%)

Example Calculation:

Given:

  • MRP: ₹100.00
  • GST Rate: 12%
  • Retailer Margin: 20%
  • Stockist Margin: 10%

Calculations:

  • MRP (Excl. GST) = ₹100 ÷ (1 + 0.12) = ₹89.29
  • PTR = ₹89.29 × (1 - 0.20) = ₹71.43
  • PTS = ₹71.43 × (1 - 0.10) = ₹64.29
  • Retailer Profit = ₹89.29 - ₹71.43 = ₹17.86
  • Stockist Profit = ₹71.43 - ₹64.29 = ₹7.14
